Rochdale went into this tough game
at title rivals Rotherham on the back of 8 straight IFA
League victories and a healthy travelling squad of 16
made the journey over the Pennines to South Yorkshire.
Rochdale started the better of the
two sides and it wasn't long before they had the
advantage when from a tightish angle on the left hand
side of the box Liam Ratcliffe sent a left footed effort
over the keepers head into the opposite corner to give
the visitors the perfect start.
Rochdale keeper Coluccio commented
that Rotherham were one of the few teams to actually
send in a number of shots against him although none
really troubled the Dale keeper.
After the break Rochdale kept on
pushing and it was 2-0 when an inswinging corner was
inexplicably pushed into his own net by the Rotherham
keeper and within minutes it was 3-0 when a great move
was superbly finished off by Ratcliffe for his second of
the game.
So it's now played 10, won 9 drawn
one for the season for Rochdale following this superb
victory over former league champions Rotherham.
